Biography:

Before becoming a well established DJ on the Gold Coast, at a young age Thomas was greatly influenced, actually, more so obsessed with Dance music.

His career began by spinning Daft Punk and Basement Jaxx records whilst supposed to be doing his homework. His Mum would constantly bust into his blearing bedroom, interrupting this much valued mixing time where he was ignoring the history and the learnings of the all important French Revolution.

After school, as soon as Thomas was "legally" allowed into the club scene, he shot straight into Brisbane's infamous Valley nightclubs and engulfed himself by the sheer power, rhythm and groove of dance music. After not lasting long in the concrete jungle of Brisbane, Thomas looked to the Gold Coast for refuge and a new era in night clubbing. Thomas quickly found himself being booked by such clubs as the original Berlin Bar, Disco Bar and Platinum nightclub before settling into a residency at the Gold Coasts' most exclusive night club Elsewhere Bar. Elsewhere and its amazing team went on to win "Best Music Offering" of the year in 2007 at the 7th Annual Bar Awards and also made finalists in several categories in 2008.

Working across the board with professionals such as Benny Roney, Audun, and Giv Afshar, Thomas' development and conduct built solidly over the years with this eclectic and professional company. Alternating from Friday night resident to Saturday night resident and the occasional Sunday night gig, Thomas developed a reputation to play a musical styling to suit any club night.

Playing festivals such as Big Day Out 06 & 07, Round and Round festival, Future Disco and a string of Boat Cruise, Warehouse, and Bush Doof gigs, Thomas has a strong variety of experience under his belt.

Dance music production also plays a major role in the musical life of Thomas. He attended SAE Byron Bay in 2003 to study a degree of Audio Engineering and today is throwing himself into his own studio with whatever free time he has. Working on multiple projects including, "Free City", "Oshi One" and of course his own "Thomas J", it is no wonder that sometimes his girlfriend becomes just a little jealous of his many synthesizers and compressors.....

Having just had his first track signed to Canadian electro label Big Fish Recordings, Thomas has the electronic world as his oyster.
His cherry popping track Oshi One - Way you Move (Thomas j Rmx) then went on to be featured in the top ten Beatport electro releases
for March 2010.

Thomas has been described as, "having amazing ability as a DJ and being just as much a showman as he is a musician". Thomas, on the other hand, describes his DJ sets as an, "Electronic Fusion"........Ingredients; add one cup of Felguk, a pinch of Deadmau5, three and a half teaspoons of D-Cup, 35 grams of Grum, a good tablespoon of Wolfgang Gartner, a little bit of Phonat and dash of Daft Punk. Then inject into a 10K sound system and serve it up with a little fresh sweat and a good drop of booze.

Though really Thomas can play any set, anywhere, anytime and loves to entertain music lovers from supporting various styles.
Over the years Mr Thomas J has supported some great artists and some not so great. Peaches, Claude von Stroke, Spirit Catcher, Ewan
Pearson, Plump Dj's, are the "Greats" and the not so greats, well he has forgotten about those guys ......

Today Thomas holds his weekly residency at the infamous Elsewhere bar on Saturday nights, Mixing up a pallet of Uk, American, French, and Australian Electro House, he's one to try at all attempts to please a crowd and always gets the dance floor jumping.
