One of the founding principles of elsewhere is to support the arts and entertainment and to provide a haven for the professionals from these industries. Many of our regular guests are active creatives within society and we have worked closely to support their goals in any way we can. One of these ways has been through the showing of local artists’ works on the walls of the venue. Another way is through collaborations in the form of exhibitions, screenings and interactive involvement.
Libertine Art Attack (July 2008)
elsewhere + Libertine combined forces for the 2nd Libertine exhibition, Art Attack, on Friday 11th July. Throughout the night Shauno, Gimiks and Can’t Sleep created masterpieces on doors and clear perspex suspended in the middle of the room, all thanks to Red Bull.
Along with the artistic creations we had muscial magic being created by Audun, Thomas J, Aniki and DJ Zach Salar.
Libertine Art LIVE installation and art show (May 2008)
Friday 16th May saw elsewhere hosting the Libertine LIVE Art Installation and Art Exhibition. With Libertine aligned with the elsewhere philosophy of supporting the arts, the intimate venue welcomed a culture-rich bunch of visitors keen on experiencing a demonstration of local talents in an "out of the box" way. Artists Shauno and Ry Ry showcased their talent by painting doors LIVE, and along with Teens On Acid, exhibiting their own artworks around the venue.
With a welcoming glass of champagne on arrival guests witnessed art coming to life before their very eyes, something that is not seen everyday, let alone in a nightclub environment! The mix of modern electro and stripped back discotech provided by resident DJ Audun and Thomas J together with the smooth sounds of special guest DJ Zach Salar provided the backing track to the night of art.
